With great regret we inform you that Professor Philipp Sandner passed away on 16 January 2024.

Our community has lost a highly esteemed scientist, valued colleague, and respected professor. We are deeply shocked and saddened by his passing.

Philipp Sandner was one of Germany's pioneers and most distinguished experts in the field of blockchain and Bitcoin as well as a valued advisor in politics and business. At Frankfurt School he was Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and successfully founded and managed the Blockchain Center. With his passion and expertise, he played a key role in shaping the profile of our business school.  

We mourn with his wife and children, his family, and his friends. 

His family and we kindly ask you to refrain from enquiries and sending condolences.
